This Week- Has been a bit random, I went shopping with my mom on Wednesday and then to the pub where I got a little bit tipsy and I went to a different pub with Beth on Friday night for wine and a last gossip before she went back to university. I gave my blog a little spring tidy and I'm so happy with the way it is at the moment and I'm very grateful to all of you who are now following my little rambles, I'm hoping to do a give-away once I've reached 100 followers but that will definitely have to happen after I finish uni due to lack of time, but I've started jotting ideas down for possible prizes (they won't be anything too big as I'm a bit skint right now). I also received a parcel in the mail which I assumed was something I ordered off Ebay but I opened it up to discover a brand new bottle of Beyonce Pulse perfume, I'm assuming I must have entered a competition at some point possibly on either the Cosmopolitan or Glamour website but I honestly don't remember I checked all my e-mails and can't find any relating to winning anything and there was no note or anything in the parcel so I'm a little bit confused. I'm not really one for celebrity fragrances but I must say this one smells really nice and the bottle is very pretty and I was on the verge of needing a new day fragrance so this was a very pleasant surprise even if it has left me baffled.
Music- Black Sabbath- Iron Man, this just keeps playing on repeat in my head this week.
Mood- Content
Product of the week- Hair donut as I've had my hair in a bun literally everyday this week.
Eating- A bit healthier this week with fresh fruit and ryvita thins.
Drinking- Too much wine this week.
Looking forward to- The next few weekends are shaping up to be awesome, me and Pete will be house sitting at his dads next weekend, going to a 21st birthday party on the 19th and my friend Dan's having a house party the weekend after that to celebrate his 21st.
Highlight- Friday night was hilarious and I'm already missing Beth but it won't be too long before we're reunited.
Goal for next week- Do as much work as I possibly can.
Blog of the week- Tea an Toast

Thursdays Bits of Joy

- I have finally got 5 empty pots to take to Lush so I shall be getting a free face mask this week, I'm thinking either     Oatifix or Cupcake.
- Lovely hot bubble baths when you're not feeling well.
- Anything from Hotel Chocolat.
- Drawing when it turns out really well
- Cheesy chick flick classics like Clueless
- Reminiscing about growing up in the 90s: The Spice Girls, Jelly shoes, When everything was neon coloured blow up and plastic like blow up chairs and backpacks, carpet sweeper jeans, hideous clip in pony tails with random bits of glitter and tiny braids, Goosebumps and the amazing glittery silver platform trainers I lived in.
- Seeing a friend you've really missed and feeling like they haven't been away.
- Mini or travel sized version of anything.
- New pjamas or a new duvet.
- The Cors light Jean Claude Van Damme adverts.
- Really crappy monster/horror movies like the spectacular Pirhana 3d and the sequel out later this year.
- These films: TedNeighbourhood Watch (pretty much just for Richard Ayoade) and Dark Shadows (yes it's the ever so predictable teaming up of one of films oldest bromance's but it looks kinda awesome, plus Chloe Moretz is pretty aweome)

What's making you smile this week?

NOTD: Fantasy Fire

So after all the hype surrounding this polish I had to add it my quickly growing collection of polishes and I must say the hype is well deserved.

I applied:
Two coats of Barry M in Blue Moon on my thumb, middle finger and little finger and two coats of Beauty UK polish in Smokey Lilac on my other fingers.
I then applied two coats of Max Factor Mini- Fantasy Fire which is an extremely sheer but a very beautiful colour which is annoyingly difficult to photograph, trust me it's much more shiny and glittery in reality.

A couple of days after I applied a third coat of Fantasy Fire, partially because of a chip and partially to make it a little darker and it looks so pretty.

Are you all loving this colour as much as me?

Sponsored Post: Online Shopping With Littlewoods

This is quite different from my usual posts but I was recently contacted and asked to post this article about the benefits of online shopping and being a bit of an add-to-basket addict I enjoyed the article and found myself agreeing with all of their points so I happily agreed and honestly with all these April showers online shopping seems a lot more tempting right now.
So here is the article:

Why shop online?

The number of people opting to shop online has risen dramatically over the past few years, with well-documented, record-breaking year-on-year increases in online Christmas sales. The benefits of shopping online at Christmas time are obvious (to avoid the often horrendous queues!) but there’s no reason why you can’t enjoy such convenience all year round. Here are just a few of the reasons why shopping online is so tempting.
1. Online clothes shopping gives you the freedom to shop in your own time. Rather than running to a store after work or spending your precious weekend traipsing around a shopping centre, you can shop while watching Coronation Street – or enjoying a cup of tea. If you have a smartphone, you can even shop casually during your lunch hour – giving you flexibility and convenience.
2. If you’re worried about having to stay at home all day to wait for a package, this downside to online shopping has been taken care of by ’Collect+’, a smart new courier service that will deliver your purchases to your local newsagent or corner shop, ready for you to collect them when it’s convenient for you – easy!
3. Some online retailers, like Littlewoods, offer excellent credit options that allow you to defer payment on your purchases for up to 12 months, or pay in manageable monthly installments that won’t stretch your budget. This could help to take some of the financial stress out of shopping, giving you greater peace of mind.
4. Many online retailers offer huge ranges, giving you the ability to browse hundreds of items with just a few clicks of the mouse. Best of all, you can avoid all the hassle of changing room queues and keep your sanity intact – and if your purchases are unsuitable, online retailers like Littlewoods offer a simple, transparent returns service. So, if you’ve yet to be converted to the online shopping cause, why not give it a trial run? It’s quick, convenient, simple – and you’re always the first in the queue.

Note: I will only post articles and features sent to me if I feel they are suited to my blog and my readers, and if I agree with the content.

My Favourite Soap & Glory Products cont...

Hopefully you've enjoyed the other two posts in this series, so here are my other favourite Soap & Glory products:

CALM ONE CALM ALL™
Calm One Calm All Bubble Bath £5.50
I'm addicted to bubble baths and this is everything I could want in a bubble bath and more, it's pink, it creates mountains of bubbles and it smells divinely sweet, if I'm craving a supremely sweet bath I use this with a bit of a Lush Creamy Candy bar and it's pure heaven. Another thing that makes this fantastic is that it contains a body lotion so it softens you're skin whilst you soak AND the bottle is huge so it lasts absolutely ages even if you're like me and like to pour a tonne in each bath. So to sum up I pretty much love this.
SUPEREYES, SUPEREYES™
Supereyes, Supereyes Wide Awake Lifting Eye Gel £9.00
When it comes to sleep I'm fairly terrible I can't remember that last time I got a good eight hours so it has become the norm for me to walk around with huge great bags under my eyes, but since using this about twice a week I must say my eyes look a lots less tired and zombie like. I smooth on a generous amount of this around my eyes after moisturising and it gives my skin a pleasant tingle and leaves the skin around my eyes looking and feeling a lot tighter and refreshed. It's not a miracle worker and won't leave your eyes permanently bag free, but I tend to use this if I know I'll be going out the next day and want to look refreshed and it's perfect as a quick pick me up.
GLAD HAIR DAY™ CONDITIONER
Glad Hair Day Conditioner Amazing Daily Shine Conditioner £5.50
This has quickly become my all time favourite conditioner and it smells absolutely fantastic and leaves my hair smelling lovely. I tend to find a lot of conditioners make my hair feel weighed down and greasy only a few hours after washing my hair but this manages to leave my hair feeling light and soft as well being strong enough to fully detangle my rather wild hair. It is a bit pricey at over £5 but considering I use it every other day it seems to be lasting a decent while which more than justifies its price tag.

Future Favourite:
SUGAR CRUSH™
Sugar Crush Body Scrub £8.00
After falling madly in love with Scrub 'Em And Leave 'Em I decided to buy another one of their scrubs whilst the 3 for 2 offer was still on, I had intended to purchase their infamous breakfast scrub but after smelling it I decided it was not for me, it doesn't smell bad but the scent of honey is rather overwhelming and as I don't like honey I was instantly put off. I expected this scrub to have a similar dessert like scent but was surprised and pleased to find that it has a zesty lime scent which manages to be sweet and light rather than being too clinical or toilet cleaner like. £8.00 seems like a lot for a shower scrub but the pot is huge and the product itself has a really thick dense texture so I am expecting this to last a good while. I haven't actually tried this yet so I can't give much insight into how well it works as a scrub but I have pretty high hopes for it.

I hope you've enjoyed this series.

Sunday Summary

Drawing the text parts of my current projects to go with the animals I've drawn, My go to hairstyle of the week as it keeps my hair out of the way while I draw, Delicious Easter chocolate from Hotel Chocolat that I've been savouring, Lovely gold eye shadow I wore out to dinner, My moms birthday cake which I felt necessary to adorn with a number 4 for no real reason, A very very sickly desert at The Rock- cookie dough pizza with chocolate brownie pieces, marshmallows, popping candy and chocolate sauce, More hand written typography I've done this week, Starting to put together my final images.

Where I've been - At home working my butt off, I haven't really gone anywhere interesting this week which is kind of a good thing as I've got lots of work done and hardly spent any money (except a couple of little purchases from antique shops and ebay which I shall post next week hopefully).
Music- Mumford & Sons.
Mood- Grumpy as I've had a horrible sickness bug for the past couple of days.
Movie- Despicable Me, I absolutely love it and The Break-Up which was just a bit meh really but I was doing work at the same time so it made for pleasant background noise I suppose.
Eating- We went out for dinner for my moms birthday where I had a delicious chicken burger with nachos and an amazing if ridiculously sickly cookie dough pizza, it was a sharer dessert so everyone had a little bit I aimed to eat about half but I couldn't quite manage it. For the past two days all I've been able to eat is one ryvita thin which is kind of torture as my mom has brought lots of lovely fruit to make us eat healthy again, I'm so hungry right now the pictures of Wednesdays cookie pizza are making me drool.
Drinking- I've been trying to drink less to try and save my money and I only drank on wednesday night when Pete brought my drinks so it worked rather well this week, I had a lovely  Mixed Berry Koppaberg and a few glasses of rose.
Wishing- This bug would do one.
Looking forward to- Going out and seeing some friends and going shopping with my mom.
Goal for next week- Try and get a lot more sketchbook work done as well as getting pictures off my camera that I've taken over the past two weeks and scheduling a load of blog posts.
Blog of the week- Courtney--xo

NOTD: Barry M Magnetic Nail Varnish

So my first attempt at using magnetic nail varnish didn't go quite as well as I'd hoped but I'm sure after a few attempts it will work better/be less messy so anyway here's what I used:
Barry M Magnetic Nail Polish- I'm not sure what the name of the shade is but as far as I know they only do two magnetic polishes at the moment (the other being a red metallic), I can't seem to find any information about this polish either on the Barry M site or on the Superdrug site which is odd as that's where I brought it from. Anyway I've noticed a few brands are currently bringing out Magnetic polishes and with Barry M being a firm favourite of mine and not to mention a much cheaper brand I thought I'd try their version. The polish comes with a magnet in the lid and some fairly simple instructions on the side on how to create the wave effect, I painted a clear base onto my nails first then one coat of the Barry M and allowed that to dry fully, then comes the slightly trickier bit you paint another coat of the Barry M on each nail inidiviually and hold the magnet very close to the wet polish until you see the effect appear. Seems simple enough right, well I certainly struggled the bottle says to hold the magnet there for just five seconds but this had little to no effect so I did end up having to redo a few of them, I'd say waiting 10 seconds or longer is definitely needed to create a noticeable effect and even then it was a bit hit and miss but this may well be down to my clumsiness.

The other nail varnishes I used were Models Own- Ibiza Mix and Topshop- Gypsy Night.

Have you tried any magnetic nail varnishes, let me know and please post links if you've done your own posts about them and had more success.
