You're So Last Summer

Shirt- H&M
Skirt- H&M
Belt (came with a dress)- H&M
Pumps- H&M
Bracelets- H&M
Necklace- Topshop

I think H&M should sponsor me for this post lol I do love H&M though the skirt cost me just £3.99! I absolutely adore the colour of it and it matches the blue on my necklace almost exactly but it creases something awful. On another note I'm doing pretty well at these jeans free OOTD's so far and that makes me pretty happy.

NOTD Pink And Blue Glitter

So this turned out a lot more messy than I wanted but I thought I'd post it anyway I think next time I try something like this I'll use a different kind of tape to create the line because the tape I used was just too sticky and ended up peeling and shifting the polish especially on the pink nails but the blue ones turned out ok.
I used:
Barry M in Blueberry Ice Cream
Barry M in Blue Glitter
Models Own in Pastel Pink
Models Own in Disco Mix

Sunday Summary

I reached 200 followers this week and I am so grateful to all you lovely people who read my blog, I went to see The Dark Knight Rises and Ice Age 4 in the same day, I've spent a lot of time drawing pugs this week including this business pug, New tea in my collection, Cup of tea in bed this morning whilst Pete was playing Starcraft= a standard Sunday morning, Big kid, Looking a little sleepy, Nachos for lunch, Lovely fluffy clouds, I will be holding a give-away hopefully this week to celebrate reaching 200 followers don't expect anything too fancy though as I am skint, New 70% dark Kitkat yummy, Blog organising I can't believe it's nearly August.

Where I've Been: Other than our day at the cinema on Wednesday I've pretty much been a hermit, I ended up going out on Friday night with my parents to a birthday party where I started off drinking Rose until me and my mom decided to do some vodka shots which resulted in me getting into a hideous state which I do not plan on repeating for the sake of my liver and my wallet. As usual I've spent the weekend at Pete's although I spent most of yesterday feeling rather sorry for myself.
Watching- The Dark Knight Rises was absolutely epic, I really loved it although Bane's voice was really irritating to start with and I wish I'd watched Batman Begins first, I really want to go see it again. Ice Age was OK it was funnier than the last two but I wouldn't rave about it.
Music- I seem to be reverting back into 13 year old me with my music tastes recently, this week I've been listening to Limp Bizkit, System Of A Down, Korn, Linkin Park and Good Charlotte.
Product Of The Week- Balance Me balancing face moisturiser, I got this free with Glamour this month and it is fantastic. I despise the way it smells but I can get past that because it may be the perfect moisturiser for my skin, it moisturisers the dry areas without being too heavy or oily on the rest of my face unfortunately I don't have a spare £24 to spend on the full size version so I will be very sad when this runs out. If anyone can suggest any more affordable moisturisers for combination skin I'd really appreciate it.
Looking forward to- I've got lots of drawing to do this week which should break up the depressing job search a bit and keep my sanity intact, me and Pete are going to the cinema to see Ted on Wednesday (hopefully), I'm hoping to have my give-away up by the end of the week and my best friend will have have come back from France by next weekend.

Emotional Brilliance- Motivation and Fantasy Review

I promised myself before going to the Emotional Brilliance event that I would only buy one thing from the new range as it is a little expensive at £14.50 each and I intended to buy a liquid lipstick but I absolutely fell in love with their liner range. I'm very picky when it comes to eye liner and have been sticking religiously with gel liners for the past few years so I really didn't expect to like the liquid liners at all but the colours are really beautiful and I decided to try them out properly whilst I was at the event and applied them over my usual black. I was very pleasantly surprised at how bright and opaque they were over the black and knew I had to buy at least one, I ended up with two the beautiful metallic teal Motivation which I picked on their Emotional Brilliance wheel and the shimmery gold Fantasy.
Application wise the brush is very thin so can be quite tricky to control but it does allow you to create very thin lines and flicks which is ideal for me, they also dry very quickly so there is very little smudging if any at all which I love. I applied the colours in the morning and they remained on my eyes until I took my make-up off at night (about 9pm), the colours were just as bright and opaque as when I applied them with just a slight colour transfer of the teal along the crease of the lid.
The glass bottles themselves are fantastic and they are pretty big compared to most other liners and as I don't plan on wearing them every day I feel a bit less guilty about spending nearly £30 on a couple of eye liners.
Overall I cannot express how much I love these two liners especially when worn together, they have fantastic durability and the colours are so bright and pretty I would love to buy more of the liner range but I will only be buying stand out colours as the £14.50 price tag is pretty steep, I definitely wouldn't be willing to pay that much for basic everyday colours like black.
My one and only negative thought about these liners is that if you happen to have been rubbing your eyes just before applying them (which I do pretty much every morning) they sting like a bitch especially the gold one. I suppose common sense should tell me that it's not wise to apply any kind of liquid liner to your eyes when they're feeling irritated or you've been rubbing them and I'm yet to find a liquid liner that hasn't at some point made my eyelids sore so I'm willing to let this point slide.

Emotional Brilliance

Emotional Brilliance, Liquid Lipstick, Cream Eyeshadow Liners, Liquid Eyeliners
Last night I spent the evening in my local Lush (Merry Hill) for a VIP event to celebrate the launch of their Emotional Brilliance make-up range. I'd seen a few blog posts floating around from people who were lucky enough to get  sent samples of the range and I was pretty excited.
The main idea behind the range is to dress to suit your emotion or personality rather than picking your usual go to colours. To tie in with this idea they have come up with a fun little game where you have to spin a wheel filled with all the colours from the range and dry ice in the middle to make it look awesome (I'm a sucker for dry ice). You close your eyes and when the wheel stops spinning you pick the first three colours which you are drawn to and these are supposed to tell you about how you are currently feeling. The first colour indicates your strength or weakness, the second is your subconscious need and the third is your talent, I picked a dark metallic teal which was Motivation, a pink which was bubbly and another pink/peach which was perspective. I absolutely adored the colour of motivation and it is my favourite colour in the entire range so I must be really motivated.
There are 30 colours in the Emotional Brilliance range as well as their new Desert Island range which includes a mascara, translucent powder, bronzer and anti aging tint. I was more interested by the Emotional Brilliance range so didn't pay too much attention to these products, I did give them a quick swatch and quite liked the powder which is cheaper than most of the products at £12.00 and I may end up purchasing this in the future as my current powder is a little dark/orange for my skin tone.
All colours are supposed to be multi use products so although a some come with liner brushes and others with lip applicators, you can use them all as liners, lip and cheek colours or eye shadows. I was initially drawn to the red and pinks as I had intended to get a lip colour and I swatched a fair few colours and applied a few on my lips but I couldn't find one that really suited me and I have to admit I wasn't overly keen on the texture or finish of the products as lip colours. The liquid consistency didn't apply all too well with the applicators and appeared a little gloopy but that may just be my application as I've seen other bloggers wearing the colours much better.
I moved onto colours I would wear on my eyes and there as some really beautiful colours in the range, my favourites are silver Success, metallic green Intuitive, sky blue Calm, shimmery gold Fantasy and the colour I picked on the wheel Motivation.
Overall the evening was fab and the Lush ladies were really helpful and friendly, there were some sweeties and fizzy drinks and I got a bunch of free liner and lip applicators.

Obviously I made a few purchases (more than I had planned) I bought two eyeliners- Motivation and Fantasy £14.50 each, a Karma Bubble Bar £3.10 and a Tea Tree Toner Water £3.95. I will be doing a review of the eyeliners this week so stay tuned for that.

Did anyone else go to one of the VIP events which are your favourite products from the range?
