Where I've Been- We stayed at Pete's dad's house until Wednesday which was pretty nice, I had an interview for a Christmas job at Lush on Tuesday  it went ok and they gave us all a free bit of Fun to try out. I went to my cousins wedding on Friday and it was a lovely day for a lovely couple I even did a bit of dancing at the reception despite my complete lack of rhythm and Pete and I danced to Wonderwall. I had a shopfloor trial at Lush yesterday which went quite well so I'm crossing all my fingers that I did well enough to get a job.
Watching- Lots of Ugly Betty and Sex In The City.
Product Of The Week- Lush's latest product Fun, as a kid I loved playdough and this is pretty much playdough for the bath and it can be used in lots of different ways, you can use it as a bubble bath or in the shower and it lasts ages. I did lots of demonstrations of Fun at my trial and I now kind of want to buy all five colours. I got given a bit of the yellow one which smells like vanilla and is actually quite similar to the smell of playdough which I really like, the two I like the best are the pink which smells all sweet like Creamy Candy and Think Pink and the green which smells like lemonade. Lush also donate 10p ( although I think it should be more like 50p) from each Fun sold to a charity working to build safe play areas for children in Japan who live near Fukushima.
Looking forward to- I will hear back from both jobs I've interviewed for this week which makes me both excited and terrified and if neither of them want me I guess I'll just apply for more. I'm also looking forward to the return of Made In Chelsea and the arrival of Lush's Christmas products which I believe will be in-store next week.

10 Day You Challenge: Nine Loves

Nine Loves:
I thought I'd steer clear of the obvious things like make-up as any of you who follow my blog will be fully aware of how much I love it.

  1. Pete- I suppose this is fairly obvious but I couldn't leave him out, we met when he came to the same sixth form as me, I'd been to high school at the same school so knew everyone and he was one of three people who came there from other schools. I liked him as soon as I saw him and after a bit of drunken flirting we started seeing each other and 4 and a half years later we're still together. He's been there for me in some difficult times and I honestly think he's a keeper.
  2. Blogging- I started blogging last December and have completely fallen in love with it, whilst I loved studying illustration I really missed writing and blogging was the perfect thing to get me typing again. I'd also started becoming more interested in beauty and fashion and blogging was/is a great outlet for me to talk about products and outfits to people just as interested as me, I've also discovered lots of lovely blogs run by lovely bloggers.
  3. My Mom- She is amazing and I feel very lucky to have a mom who is always here for me and has instilled in me the need to be creative (she is an amazing painter). She also loves the same music as me and started taking me to gigs when I was 14, we've seen so many amazing bands together and she has some pretty cool tattoos.
  4. Duvet Days- My average Saturday morning involves waking up to Pete bringing me a cup of tea and us watching episodes of Adventure Time in bed for hours.
  5. DVD Boxsets Of Awesome TV Series- Current favourites include; The Mighty Boosh, Green Wing, Flight Of The Conchords, The Young Ones and The IT Crowd
  6.  Turquoise- I love anything this colour.
  7. Bubble Baths- Sometimes they are the best part of my day, my perfect bath= a Lush Bubble Bar+ a glossy mag+ a glass of White Zinfandel.
  8. House Parties- By this I don't mean the kind you see on Teen comedies I mean little get-togethers at a friends house playing Ring Of Fire and listening to ridiculously trashy music.
  9. Old Or Trashy Horror Films- My DVD collection is getting a bit ridiculous and I'm a sucker for a horror film, I love wondering into CEX and spending ages rooting through the films to end up leaving with such classics as the original Nosferatu, House, Zombie Flesh Eaters, Bucket Of Blood and The Fear: Resurrection (this one is absolutely hilarious).

Feature Friday: September Empties

It looks like I've used up quite a bit this month but a lot of them are mini's, so here are my empties and mini reviews:

Charles Worthington Salt Spray-
I've finally used this up and I must say I've been impressed with how long it's lasted considering I've used it pretty much every time I've washed my hair, I did a proper review of this in my July/August Favourites post which you can read here.
Would I buy again: I did quite like this but I don't honestly think I'll be buying it again down to the fact that I don't like the smell and I've found a salt spray that smells better and makes my hair a bit more wavy

John Frieda Radiant Red Shampoo-
This smells really nice and has lasted ages, I haven't really noticed it enhancing the red colour of my hair but it's a decent enough shampoo and leaves my hair pretty shiny.
Would I buy again: I would probably buy this again as it does smell really nice but it's not something I'm rushing out to replace.

Radox Stress Relief-
I love Radox. That is all.
Would I buy again: Yep

Lush Karma Bubble Bar-
I adore this bubble bar and the entire Karma range, I get about 4 or five baths out of a bar so I think they're pretty reasonably priced and the scent is super strong and lingers well on the skin.
Would I buy again: Yes absolutely I'm currently restraining myself from going on a Lush splurge after yesterdays Models Own splurge but I have bought some many of these bubble bars and will continue to do so, I also really want to buy the Karma soap.#

Benefit Refined Polish Face Scrub-
I did a review of the B.right Intro Kit that this came in which you can read here my opinion is pretty much the same although I have found the packaging of the minis can make it a little difficult to get out all of the product and have cut open the bottle since taking the picture above and got about two more uses out of what was left.
Would I buy again: I would buy the mini set again but I can't see myself buying the full size Refined Polish on it's own, there's nothing wrong with it and I do think it's a good scrub but it hasn't really wowed me enough to justify paying £17.50 for it.

Sanctuary Mini Pore Refining Toner-
This I absolutely love and I managed to get a lot of uses out of the tiny bottle (30ml) so I imagine a full size (150ml) would last months and it's quite reasonably priced at £8.99. Lush's Tea Tree toner is still my absolute favourite toner but I think this would be a great toner to alternate with it.
Would I buy again: I would definitely consider buying a full size one as a treat and I will definitely buy the mini again as it great to take on trips.

Umberto Giannini Incredible Body Mini Shampoo & Mini Conditioner-
I bought these back in June when I went to Glastonbury for a wedding and they had been left abandoned in my draws for months but as we've been house sitting for the past two weeks I've had the chance to use them up and they're pretty decent. I think the shampoo is a bit better than the condioner but I haven't really noticed them adding much noticeable volume but they've left my hair and pleasant smelling.
Would I buy again: Full sizes are £5.29 and they haven't impressed me enough to consider purchasing when I could buy the Soap & Glory Glad Hair Day shampoo and conditoner for the same price.

Montagne Jeunesse Deep Cleansing Nose Pore Strips-
I'd never tried these before, they come in a pack of three and I still have one left, the smell is very strong and I can't say I'm too keen on it but you get used to it. I Have quite large pores especially on my nose so these are pretty much ideal for me and I quite enjoy using them, I do feel that they leave my nose feeling soft and deeply cleansed.
Would I buy again: I think these were about £1.50 which I think is a bargain and I will definitely be repurchasing.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter-
I still have about a quarter of a pot left from the full sized pot and am still loving it I use it mostly on my hands and arms as I get little rough patches on the top of my arms and this has really made a difference in helping them disappear. I've done a review of this here.
Would I buy again: In all honesty I'm glad that I'm almost out of this as I'm getting a bit tired of the Strawberry scent, it's definitely more of a summer scent to me but I already have my next body butter lined up which is much more autumn appropriate.

Soap & Glory Scrub 'Em And Leave 'Em-
I really really like this and I love Soap & Glory's mini scrubs as they're perfect for keeping at Pete's, I've written about this scrub here.
Would I buy again: I would buy this again and it is in fact my second tub but I think I prefer Scrub Of Your Life which smells pretty similar but has a slightly better consistency in my opinion.

Product Review: Avene Samples

A little while ago I read about Avene which is a brand I was previously unaware of and I had a little look around the website and found out that if you sign up for the newsletter and fill in a little skin diagnosis questionnaire they will send you some samples every now and then. Well I signed up a few months ago and had actually forgotten all about it until I came home to find a little package addressed to me, I was delighted to open it up and find two samples aimed at my skin type.

Gentle Gel Cleanser-
This is quite a generous sized sample and it smells very similar to Benefit's B.right skin care range which smells fantastic, at first I didn't notice but it contains little orange beads and it felt really gentle on my skin leaving it clean and soft. I will warn you that the little bottle is very difficult to squeeze which makes it a little difficult to get the product out.
Would I buy it: It smells very nice and is no doubt a good cleanser but I don't think I'd go out and buy a full size.

Hydrance Optimale UV Light SPF 20 Protective Hydrating Cream-
I was much more impressed with this, I really struggle to find moisturisers that hydrate my skin without making it more oily but this really suits my skin and leaves it with a soft matt finish and as I have extremely fair skin added SPF is always a bonus.
Would I buy it: I absolutely love this and will definitely buy a full size tube in the future as it suits my skin perfectly.

Overall I was very pleased to receive these samples and probably wouldn't have tried the brand had it not been for their website and samples, I will definitely be buying Avene products in the future with the moisturiser being first on my wishlist. I was also impressed by the fact they had clearly taken my skin diagnosis into account and provided me with samples targeted at combination skin.
If you want to sign up and receive some samples you can join here.

Models Own 50% Off Sale

Models Own

Just a quick little post today as I'm going out for dinner soon I'm sure most of you have been (im)patiently waiting for Models Own to reach 100,000 likes on their Facebook page so they would hold thier promised 50% off sale and for those you that weren't aware you are now and I anticipate you're heading on over to the site right now.
I'm such a nail polish addict that my bank balance is now feeling a little wounded I tried not to go too mental although I was adding and removing things from my cart for so long that an item sold out : [ I guess I'll have to get Thunder & Lightning some other time. In the end I spent about £22.00 and got 7 nail polishes (one is for my mom) and a foundation brush which would have cost me all together £44.00.
Here are the colours I chose:

Unfortunately the new Mirrorball collection isn't included and is currently sold out otherwise I fear my order would have been ridiculous.

P.s I hear back from job applications this week including one for a Christmas job at Lush so you all better be crossing your fingers for me .

10 Day You Challenge: Ten Secrets

So this tag has been floating around for a good while now and I've been meaning to do it for ages and as I have barely been home for the past two weeks I haven't had chance to take a lot of the photo's for posts I have lined up (I have so many reviews for products I want to write) so I think now is the perfect time to do this tag.

So here we go, first up 10 Secrets:

  1. I'm 21 and I still sleep with the stuffed cat I've had since I was three and I should probably be more embarrassed by this than I am.
  2. When I was little I became paranoid that my house would set on fire whilst everyone was asleep and I'd make my dad check the entire house before going to bed.
  3. I've never smoked anything and I never intend to.
  4. I was pretty odd in secondary school and hated the majority of the people in my school but the ones I liked are still my closest friends.
  5. The general state of music these days hurts my soul, I'm still listening to the same albums as I was when I was about 13 such as; System Of A Down- Steal This Album, and don't get me started on music videos.
  6. I have loads of little scars mostly from the Chicken Pox but because I'm so pale they're hardly visible.
  7.  I drink too much and regularly get myself in a disgusting state involving vomit and tears, and I'd take a small house party over a night on the town any day. I also used to spend lunch times at sixth form in the pub conveniently located across the road and went back tipsy on more than one occasion.
  8. I'm a pretty guarded person and don't often tell people how I really feel.
  9. I'm incredibly shy in person and constantly worry about making a tit of myself which usually results in me doing it anyway.
  10. I once got so excited upon hearing Tick Tick Boom by The Hives that I ran head first into a glass door in an attempt to get inside and turn it up, I may have been inebriated at the time.

Favourite- Glitter Varnishes

This is the final post about my favourite nail varnishes and as you can see I couldn't whittle it down to five this time probably because I have too many pretty glitter nail varnishes.
Topshop- Gypsy Night, this is actually the only Topshop nail varnish I own which is something I plan on changing as soon as I have some kind of income but back to the polish, it is so pretty and the little amber/red bits make this glitter look pretty special. I'm yet to get a decent picture of this but you can see it here although trust me the picture really doesn't show how pretty it is up close.

Barry M- Hologram Hexograms, I have used this so much as it looks great over pretty much any nail polish, it does take a couple of coats to get decent amount of hexagrams over the nail but it as you can see it's lasting well. I've used this here over another glitter to create the same look as OPI's Muppet Collection polishes.

Barry M- Red Glitter, I adore Barry M glitters they have fantastic coverage as the glitter is quite dense so it only takes a couple of coats for complete coverage. I can guarantee that I will be using this a lot as Christmas draws near as it's the perfect festive glitter, I used this here.

Barry M- Blue Glitter, this is probably my most used glitter as it looks great with my favourite blue polishes, not much else to say about it really as it's the same formula as the red above. I used this here.

Models Own- Ibiza Mix and Angelica- Brit Pop, I love this kind of glitter (although I find they're the hardest to remove) there's so many different colours in each with Ibiza Mix having mostly golds and blues and Brit Pop having bright rainbow colours. The formulas are quite different, the Ibiza Mix gives a very light coat of glitter whereas Brit Pop's glitter is more dense and gives a very sparkly coating. I've used Ibiza Mix here and Brit Pop here.

Technic- Mermaid, So other than having a fantastic name this latest addition to my nail polish collection cost me just 99p from Body Care and it is flippin gorgeous I'm yet to use it in a NOTD but I have tried it out and it gives a pretty decent coat of glitter with just one coat so look out for pictures of this appearing on my blog fairly soon.

Sunday Summary

I have this picture right above my bed and it's making me miss Tenby so much, Me and mom did a little Soap & Glory swap I gave her The Daily Youth Moisturisers and she gave me the Fab Pore Mask, I drank my own tea then stole Pete's too, We made Chicken Enchiladas, Enjoying my amazingly fleecy Primark PJ's, Apple Sourz and Diet Bitter Lemon so good, What I wore to a job interview this week I also wore a blazer and felt a bit silly, A post interview treat, I had to get photographic evidence of the first time my dad has cooked in about 10 years.

Follow me on Instagram: sammyscribble

Where I've Been- Pete and I have been staying at his dads most of this week cooking and watching tv, we went shopping so I could get some plain black trousers for my interview as usual I ended making a few less necessary purchases and am feeling a little guilty. This weekend has been a little odd, I went to a funeral on Friday morning and then a party in the evening, I was very sensible and only got a little tipsy. I had my interview yesterday, it lasted for about 3 hours and I was very nervous but it went better than I thought it would and I'll hear back within 10 days so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. Today Pete is having his first day at his new job which makes me a pretty proud girlfriend, it's only a weekend job but it's a start, we'll be staying at his dad's for the next few days and we're having enchiladas again tonight followed by Krispy Kreme's and a DVD.
Watching- I finally saw American Reunion and I loved it, it wasn't as funny as the first two but the storyline was nice and it worked well.
Product Of The Week- I've been living off Beechams this week trying to shift a horrible cold before my interviews.
Looking forward to- I have another interview on Tuesday for a job I really want. I'm hopefully going to go for drinks with Beth and I'm going to a wedding on Friday.

Feature Friday: Products Of The Month

Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Conditioner
I bought this a little while ago when it was on offer for just £2.50 and I'm really glad I did as it's fantastic value for money. First off the bottle is huge so it should last me a good while and it smells gorgeous, I was drawn to this conditioner as its from the same line as the split end protection cream which I wrote about here. I just had my hair cut and truth be told my ends were pretty straggly as it's been a year since my last cut so I'm on a mission to get it back in good condition as I want to grow it quite long so I think I found this conditioner at the perfect time.

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel
Despite being a lush addict this is the first ever bottled shower gel from lush I have tried and I will definitely be stocking up when it's back instore near Christmas. Firstly it has the same scent as thier Bubblegum Lip Scrub which is a big hit in the blogging community and I absolutely love it, it's very sweet but not too overpowering. It does foam well but is more creamy than anything and leaves my skin feeling very soft. My one small complaint with this is that the bottle is very hard which makes it very hard to squeeze the product out and can be quite frustrating but it's not too much of negative as I've just taken to removing the whole cap in order to get the product out.

Bourjois Little Round Pot Eyeshadows
As you can see the pale beige has been used a hell of a lot and I'm completely in love with it. It's so subtle meaning it's perfect as an everyday pick me up, I have very pale skin in general but the skin on my eyelids is even more pale and can look a little bluey purple on occasion. This instantly brightens my lids whilst remaining really subtle as well as giving a nice touch of shimmer. The purple is a fairly recent addition to my make up kit but so far I've been equally as impressed, it's fairly pale so I've mostly used it along the crease to add a touch of definition around my eyes, I would imagine it would have much better colour pay off if you were to apply it with a wet brush which is something I will definitely be trying soon. You can see me wearing both of these shadows here.

Lush Emotional Brilliance Eye Liner in Motivation
I've used my other Lush Liner Fantasy quite a lot but this month I've been loving Motivation. It's such a pretty colour  somedays I like to wear this just on the lower lash line with black liner on the top and the colour really stands out. They're a little bit pricey but you get twice as much product as you would in a normal liner and as I don't use them everyday I consider them to be great value for money. You can see me wearing this liner here.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm in Romance
I will be doing a proper review of this so I won't say too much now but so far I've found them to be pretty durable and long lasting and very moisturizing also I love the minty tingle you get as you apply them and I can see myself buying other shades.

What products have you been loving this month?

Feature Friday: September Inspirations

So here's what I've been hearting this month, this months is a little small as I haven't been on my computer as much and there is a huge amount of One Direction pictures  on We Heart It right now which I definitely do not heart but anyway...

I pretty much need to make these cupcakes they are simple and look so cute and what could be better than cupcakes and oreos.
Autumn Wardrobe Inspiration:
It wouldn't be an inspirations post without a few kittys:
This colour combination is gorgeous and has confirmed my need to add a grey polish to my nail varnish ciollection:
I cannot wait for the leaves to change, I love Autumn:

As this Feature Friday was so short I'm hoping to post last weeks Feature Friday which I missed either later today or tomorrow.

All images found on We Heart It.
