Recent Beauty Purchases

I think this was 10% off when I bought it plus I got staff discount so it was probably more like £40.00

Shell Style Nail Glitter- £1 Poundshop

The Body Shop Seaweed Mini Skincare Set- £10.00

Well obviously I didn't buy all this in one shopping trip but as I've been buying quite beauty bits throughout May I thought I'd put them all together in a big haul post.
I will be reviewing some of these products soon but if there is anything specific people would like me to review please let me know.
Lastly I'm very sorry for my lack of posting this week, I've been very busy with my mom and Pete's mom organising an engagement party for Pete and I which is happening tonight and I am super excited about it.

You Beauty Discovery Box- May

So I signed up to yet another beauty box, I recently cancelled my SoukSouk subscription and wasn't planning on signing up to any more beauty boxes but I've been seeing some very positive reviews of the You Beauty Discovery Box floating around and as it was nearly half the price of my SoukSouk subscription I decided to give it a go.
For £6.95 a month you get to pick two products from thier monthly shortlist which then get sent out to you along with a few extra little samples, obviously you don't get as much in your box as you do with more expensive beauty boxes but their shortlists seem to have a fairly good range of products to choose from each month which offers you more of a selection than other beauty boxes like Love Me Beauty. There were 14 different samples in this months shortlist ranging from haircare to make-up and skincare, I went for one haircare item and a skincare sample.

GLAMGLOW Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment
The first thing I chose was this GlamGlow mask, this promises flawless skin and a glowing complexion in just 10 minutes I haven't tried it yet but I like a good mud mask so I've been saving it for a proper pamper and it smells lovely.

Percy & Reed Eau My Goodness Shine and Fragrance Spray
I went for this as my second product choice, I've never heard of a fragrance spray for hair but the packaging was so cute and I've really liked Percy & Reed products I've tried before so I wanted to try this. I've used this a few times now and it really does smell beautiful but I can't say I've noticed much in the way of shine so it's not something I'd buy for myself.

Charles Worthington Salon At Home Moisture Seal Hair Healer Leave-In Conditioner
My hair has definitely been feeling a little frazzled recently so this should come in handy and it also comes with a £2.00 off voucher which I'll be using to get myself some conditioner.

Caudalie Divine Legs Tinted Body Lotion
I never ever use fake tan because I am super pale and I actually quite like being pale so I doubt I'll use this and to be honest the samples pretty tiddly so I don't know whether it would cover my legs anyway.

Lizi's Treacle & Pecan Granola
This was so yummy, I've been trying to eat a bit more healthy recently and have been starting my day with a big bowl of granola with low fat yogurt so I was pretty pleased to see this in my box and it was very yummy.

Overall I wasn't really wowed by my first box but I'm going to see if next months box any better, you can sign up to You Beauty Discovery for £6.95 a month here.

Birchbox May 2014 Edition

I was really pleased with this months Birchbox, this month they collaborated with Harper's Bazaar to create boxes filled with products which are supposed to prepare you for the (possibly) sunny warm weather ahead.
I'm not too sure the products in my box really fit the theme but I got a great selection of products, most of which I'll use.

Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning Bath & Shower Oil
This smells fantastic, it's a wonderful mix of grapefruit, rosemary and juniper berry that is really uplifting and relaxing at the same time, I'm saving this for a long bath after a particularly crap shift to unwind.

Benefit They're Real! Mascara
There is a lot of hype around this mascara but I must say I'm not convinced I've tried another sample of this and found it be a little dried up and it didn't make much difference to my lashes at all but I'm willing to give it another go.

It's always useful to have mini shampoos and conditioners as I like to keep a little stash of them at Pete's, these smell incredible they're really sweet and kind of like honey scented which is great for the summer.

Creme au Beurre.
The packaging for this nail varnish is so pretty and made the polish feel that little bit more special, unfortunately it was an absolute bugger to get into they packed the polish into a thick rectangle of sponge to keep it secure but it was so tight in the box I pretty much had to tear the box apart to get it out. I got the shade Creme au Beurre which looks beautiful in the bottle, a milky nude with a very slight shimmer however once painted onto my nails it appears to be a pale peach which really isn't for me unfortunately so this will probably go to my mom.

Another well hyped product, the infamous Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, I must admit having read about a thousand reviews about this I've been wanting to try it but as I already own a Sanctuary hot cloth cleanser I've been waiting until that's all used up. I haven't had time to try this yet as I've been on mostly late shifts recently but I can't wait to try it and see if it lives up to the hype and of course it's lovely to have another muslin cloth.

Overall I think this was a great box with a really good selection of products, I can't see myself getting too much use out of the nail varnish or mascara as they just aren't to my taste but other than that I was really pleased with my Birchbox this month. You can subscribe to Birchbox here for £10.00 (+p&p).

Lush May Day Bath Bomb

May Day is a cute little badger shaped bath bomb that aims to support one of Lush's many worthy causes, all the proceeds (minus the VAT) from the sales of this bomb will go towards anti-badger cull projects in the UK.
It has quite an interesting scent, to me it smelt a little aniseedy thanks to the Fennel in it which I wasn't too keen on but it also has a sweet sherbety tinge thanks to the Rosewood Oil and Bergamot Oil and it smelt a lot sweeter once in the water.
It fizzed away very quickly turning the water a cloudy white with a very faint shimmer once it reached the end of it's fizzing I noticed something floating in the water, there was a little note hidden in the middle of the bomb I really love these little surprises Lush put in thier bombs it adds a little more interest to what is essentially quite a plain bomb.
Once you've emerged from the tub you're left with soft sweet smelling skin and the lovely feeling that comes from contributing to a worthy cause, you can pick up May Day here for £2.95 until the end of May.

£5.00- Some random shop in Wolverhampton

I've been bagging myself some real bargains for my summer wardrobe over the past couple of months, I'm especially pleased with my stash of new t-shirts and my super cheap velvet shoes.
I used to have some jelly shoes in primary school so I've been dying to get myself some now they're back so I had to get these ones from Primark for just £6.00.
I love the Fuse concession in Debenhams because the Touch jewellery is so cheap and they usually have some nice big (slightly tacky) necklaces and earrings, I snapped up these huge flower drop earrings in the sale a few weeks ago.
I've never shopped at Bershka before but I was having a browse a couple of months ago and I saw the seashell bag, it was originally £20 I think and I fell in love with it but I was a bit skint at the time so I waited and it went to sale at £10 but I waited a little longer and it went right down to £3.99 which I was absolutely delighted about and I plan to take it to my engagement party as it goes really well with the new dress I bought (I'll share that with you soon).
