The Body Shop- Seaweed Skin Essentials Kit

The Body Shop Mini Seaweed Skincare Set

I've never really tried any of The Body Shop's skincare I usually just pop in to get myself a body butter but when I ran out of my last toner I decided to try something new, I was going to get myself the Seaweed Clarifying Toner when I saw this little set on sale for £10.00 so I decided to buy it instead and try out more of the range.
I've nearly used up most of the set so I thought I'd share my thoughts on each of the products from the Seaweed range.

I don't usually use any serums or night treatments but this was a nice addition to my routine, it is a thin gel that aims to bring balance to combination skin leaving it feeling hydrated but not shiny. Like the rest of the seaweed range it has a light fresh scent which makes me think of the sea. I really enjoyed using this but I didn't notice too much of a difference to my skin so I probably wouldn't buy a full size version for £12.00.

I really like this cleanser I feel like it really thoroughly cleanses my skin and removes any excess oil without drying it out, leaving a soft matte finish. A full size bottle is £8.50 for 100ml which isn't too bad but as I can get a bottle of my favourite La Roche Posay Effaclar Foaming Gel Cleanser (which is twice the size) for £11.00 I don't feel the need to run out and get myself this right away.

This was my favourite product from the kit, it's really refreshing, leaves my skin feeling really clean and it doesn't contain alcohol so it didn't make my skin sore or leave it feeling tight. I liked this so much that pretty much as soon  as I finished up the bottle I went and bought a full size one, it was £8.50 which I think is pretty good considering how long the sample bottle lasted me.

I'm quite picky about my moisturisers but I actually found this to suit my skin and it was lovely to use during all the hot weather we've had recently as it has a slight cooling effect when applied. It has a light oil free gel like texture which sinks in quickly leaving skin with a soft matte finish and a little goes a long way so it's pretty reasonably priced at £11.00 for a full tub.

Product Review- Lush Sakura

Lush brought this pretty little bomb back a few months a go and as I never tried it the first time round I decided to pick one up , Sakura is inspired by Cherry blossom in Japan and contains mimosa, jasmine oils, lemon oil and orange flower, it smells fantastic, really sweet floral and relaxing.
It fizzed away really quickly and the little bits of sea salt dissolved away a little slower which made for a relaxing soak although I was a little disappointed that the lovely pink and turquoise colours from the outside of the bomb disappeared in the water and I was left with just a slightly cloudy bath with a pale pink tinge.
It was a nice bomb for a relaxing soak but for the price I'd rather go for something like Twilight or Sex Bomb.

Love Me Beauty Box July 2014 Edition 1

A great box from Love Me Beauty this month with 6 products in each of this months menus and a full size bonus product for the first 450 subscribers to choose their box.

Bonus Product- Weleda Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Body Lotion
I've only tired a couple of Weleda products one of which I really didn't like but I was still pleased to see this in my box, it has a very strong citrusy scent and sinks in to my skin quickly leaving it feeling really soft.

The Teashed- Northern Brew
I love tea so I was thrilled to see one I've never tried before in this months box I went for the Northern Brew which is whole leaf Ceylon with black tea from Sri Lanka I haven't tried it yet as I'm currently on an Earl Grey binge but it smells really good.

OFRA Pressed Eye Shadow in ‘Sublime’
OFRA are a brand I've never heard of before but when I saw this shade it reminded of one of my favourite eyeshadows MAC-Cranberry so I knew I had to go for edition 1, it's quite well pigmented and has a mirror underneath the eyeshadow which is a nice touch although overall the packaging feels a little cheap. This is definitely something I'll get a lot of use out of and is definitely my favourite product from this months box.

Lashem Lash Enhancing Serum
I have quite long eyelashes so I've never tried a lash enhancing serum before but I'm looking forward to trying this to see if it makes any difference to my eyelashes.

OFRA Universal Eyebrow Eyeliner
I much prefer using powder for eyebrows rather than a pencil as I usually find pencils way too dark for me but this one isn't overly dark so I might give it a go.

So Susan Dual Brow Powder
This is a lovely little brow kit although it is a little dark for me so I'll probably wear the darker shade as eyeshadow but I really like the packaging and the little angled brush is great.

So Susan Flutter Mascara
I love trying new mascara's especially when they come in pretty packaging like this lovely gold tube, I can't wait to try this as it promises the darkest curliest lashes possible.

This is definitely one of the best Love Me Beauty boxes so far and it's made me really hopeful for next months box. You can sign up to Love Me Beauty here for £10 per month +p&p.

OOTD: Fear And Loathing

I wore:
Sunglasses- Primark
T-shirt- Topshop
Trousers- H&M
Necklaces- Equinox
Socks- Primark
Shoes- Primark

I picked up this t-shirt a few weeks ago, I spotted it on the sale rail in the little Topshop concession at work and sneakily put it aside to pick up after my shift I think it was only about £10.00 which is an absolute bargain. I finally wore my jelly shoes which are super comfortable and perfect for the beach, I also wore these lovely floral trousers which I bought for a job interview last month.
The Primark sunglasses were £2.00 and were my new favourites, I wore them pretty much all week, but unfortunately on the last day of our holiday one of the arms snapped in half so I will definitely have to search down a replacement pair.

Take Me To The Sea

I want to be back in Tenby sitting on the beach watching Pete skim pebbles on the sea, it's literally my favourite place ever and each time we visit I can feel all my stress and anxiety melting away, Pete and I are hoping to get married there one day so we invited my parents down for a few days to visit the beautiful Manobier Castle which is our dream wedding venue. On our recent week in Tenby we stayed at our usual B&B (The Croyland it is fantastic) and this time we got to stay in the same room we stayed in on our very first trip which made the whole week feel a little more special and got me feeling very nostalgic.
I remember our first visit to Tenby it was our first holiday together, we were 18, we'd been together a year and Pete had only just passed his driving test so we decided to take the train (or trains as it turned out) it took 5 and a half hours to get there but we instantly felt at home and that's why we've returned every year since sometimes twice a year to our favourite place and our favourite B&B.
So here are a few photos from our recent trip and a few bonus (hilarious/embarassing) ones from our first trip.
