A Halloween Inspired Make-Up Look

Happy Halloween Everyone, I quite enjoy Halloween I like getting dressed up in something gory and going out to enjoy many many drinks but unfortunately I've decided to stay in this Hallows Eve and watch a couple of horror films instead. That being so I still fancied going a little vampy with my make-up today so I thought I'd share with you my simple Halloween inspired look.

For this simple halloween look I used:
Diorskin Forever Foundation in Ivory
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair
Make-Up Revolution Eyeshadows from the Iconic 3 Palette
L'Oreal Super Liner Pure Black
Cosmetics A La Carte Divine Lash Mascara
Makeup Revolution Lipstick in 100% Vamp
Topshop Lipstick in Straight Ace
Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon

Halloween Nail Art

I haven't done any nail art for ages but with it being Halloween tomorrow I thought I'd spend an afternoon coming up with a few fun designs for spooky nail art, because it's been so long since I had a go at any nail art and because my Models Own Nail Art Pen has seen better days and has gone a bit gloopy these aren't my best designs but I think some of them are quite good for a spooky nail look.

First up I did a few classic creepy designs, these really would look so much better if my pen wasn't all blobby but in general I think they work, I think my favourite is the green nail with the little eyeballs.

Being a huge lover of horror films I decided to do a few designs based on my some of my favourite horror movies ( I then remembered that I'm not very good at faces but I decided to ignore that and do them anyway ha). So here's who I've tried to replicate in nail art form, from left to right, Jason Voorhees (Friday 13th), generic zombie, Chucky (Childs Play), Micheal Myers (Halloween) and Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare On Elm Street). I think the Jason and the zombie nails worked the best although I do have a soft spot for the Freddy one which turned out more like an adorable muppet than a nightmare inducing seriel killer.

I used quite a few nail varnishes so I thought I'd just leave a list of them at the bottom of my post so here's what I used:

Models own Nail Art Pen in Black
Barry M Nail Paint in Black
Barry M Nail Paint in Grey
Barry M Nail Paint in Matt White
Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Radium
Barry M Nail Gelly in Mango
Barry M Nail Gelly in Passion Fruit
Barry M Nail Gelly in Chilli
Barry M Nail Gelly in Paprika
Barry M Nail Gelly in Damson
Barry M Nail Gelly in Almond

If anyone knows any decent not too expensive nail art pens please let me know.

Lush Halloween- Wizard Bubble Bar

This cute little Wizard is another item from Lush's limited edition Halloween range, he's a shimmer covered bubble bar decorated with little gold stars and a big yellow star on top of his head.
Wizard has an usual but wonderful smell that's sort of a mix of everything and reminds me of walking into a Lush store, there's fruity notes from the tangerine oil and juniperberry that give it a sweet edge and relaxing hints of fennel oil, ylang ylang oil and gardenia extract that give it a special magical witchy type smell like walking into a room full of incense burners. It's pretty much the perfect scent for halloween and it created mountains of bubbles whilst turning the water a deep purple.
I really liked using this bubble bar but I think if I could only choose one halloween bath time treat I'd go for Sparkly Pumpkin it feels a little more luxurious and is better value for money as I got three baths out of the pumpkin and only two baths out of Wizard.

Lush Halloween- Sparkly Pumpkin

Sparkly Pumpkin is a limited edition bubble bar from Lush's Halloween range and I must say it's pretty much perfect for Halloween no matter how you want to spend it, it's got gold sparkle to get in you the party mood if you're dressing up and going out as well as a beautiful warming scent to settle you down for a good old horror movie marathon if you're staying in.
It's quite a large bubble bar (a bit bigger than Karma) and I easily managed to get three baths out of it, all with mounds of bubbles, and it made the water a beautiful orange colour with a pretty gold glimmer which doesn't cling to your skin but did stick to the bottom of my bath which I know puts some people off using Lush's more glittery creations.
It has a sweet warm scent thanks to lime, juniperberry and grapefruit oils and the little stick of cinnamon was a nice seasonal touch, I guess I expected more of a pumpkin type scent but I did really like how it smelt and it's super relaxing.

October Wishlist

October Wishlist

I haven't posted a wishlist for a while as I've been on a bit of spending ban but there are so many things catching my eye recently as I feel like my autumn/winter wardrobe is a bit restricted and perhaps a bit dull and I feel like a lot of things on my October wishlist could be mixed with things I already own to help perk up my autumn outfits.
Things I sort of need-
Some jeans that actually fit both my bum and my waist, seriously if anyone knows of any jeans with actual bum space do let me know otherwise I'm going to order a couple of pairs of the H&M high waisted skinnies and hope they fit.

A new everyday bag as my beloved Asos bowler bag is starting to fall apart, I've been looking for a decent mid sized bag for ages and I think the burgundy bowler bag from Pull & Bear is pretty much ideal. I also need a new wallet to go in my new bag and when it comes back in stock I'm going to order the cat inspired one from H&M.

I could do with a few more long sleeve tops for times when it's not quite cold enough for my many jumpers but definitely too cold for a t-shirt, with that in mind I'll probably buy the skeleton print shirt, which is a bargain at £6.99, and the heart print blouse which is adorable. I adore the Frankenstein sweatshirt it's not exactly an essential but I would probably live in it which I think justifies it's £30.00 price tag.

The rest of my wishlist are things I don't really need and probably won't buy but they shall remain bookmarked just in case I feel like treating myself when payday rolls around as I have been getting a fair bit of overtime recently.

My Little Box By Diane Von Furstenberg- October 2014

After being super impressed with my first My Little Box last Month (you can read about that here) I was very much looking forward to the next one landing on my door step and I was equally impressed this month. This month the quirky french beauty box teamed up with designer Diane Von Furstenberg to create a box that wonderfully blended their cute girly french aesthetic with the designers more bold and bright patterns.

A Kiss From Diane Pin
The first thing that I saw once I'd opened the box and took out the beautifully illustrated card and magazine was this beautiful pin, I absolutely love it I can't wait to pop on my long black winter coat for a little pop of colour and whimsy.

Diane Von Furstenberg Scarf
Now this super bright and bold scarf might not be to everyones taste but I absolutely love it, the combination of colours are perfect and again this will go perfectly with my winter coats and my many black jumpers. I also loved the little illustrations inside the envelope that show different ways to wear the scarf, I especially like the idea of wrapping this around the strap of my handbag.

Now for the beauty bits I was super impressed last month with samples from Laura Mercier and Nuxe.

My Little Beauty Micellar Water
I'm not a huge fan of Micellar waters but I'm open to trying this and the adorable packaging just adds to My Little Beauty's quirky personal style that makes these boxes stand out against the many others on the market.

Kerastase Hairspray
I don't use hair spray all that often, preferring texturising sprays, so I usually steal my mom's if I do need some hairspray it will be nice to have my own for a change especially one as well regarded as Kerastase.

L'Occitane Hand Cream
I'm constantly nabbing my mom's L'Occitane Hand Creams, they're really moisturising but sink in quickly leaving your hands soft but not greasy, I love L'Occitanes beautiful scents too and I was very happy to recieve the vanilla one as it smells delicious.

You can sign up to My Little Box here for £11.00 per month (+p&p) and I can't wait to see what next months theme will be.
