November Wishlist

It would appear I'm mainly lusting after floaty shirts this month, I treated myself this month to a couple of new wardrobe basics including some jeans that actually fit me properly and a couple of skirts so I'm being drawn to pretty tops to dress them all up for the festive season. My favourites are the two in the centre from H&M I adore the beaded bumble bee design on the black shirt and I really like the pattern on the camel coloured shirt it's not the kind of thing I'd usually go for but it's caught my eye for whatever reason.
H&M also have some lovely basic bits that are also kind of dressy, I spotted the sparkly jersey top in store and might have to go back for it on payday it's got a lovely relaxed fit but the touch of sparkle means you could easily dress it up. The high waisted trousers are a bargain at £12.99 and I have lots of cropped t-shirts and tops that I could team with them but as H&M sizes tend to be quite small on their bottoms I'm worried I won't be able to get my big bum into them so I'd definitely have to try them on instore. The pink t-shirt is completely not my style but I've been dressing a bit more girly recently and I think the tee would look great with the high waisted trousers and a pair of my many chunky boots to tone down the girly vibe.
I do not need any more Topshop lip colours but Get Me Bodied is such a gorgeous purple colour, I don't have any Lime Crime products so I definitely feel like I could allow myself to a little treat in the form of their Utopia Velvetine Lip Colour, the shade is divine and the packaging is equally as beautiful.

What's on your wishlist this month?

My Little Cosy Box- November 2014

This months My Little Box had a Cosy theme and is filled with things to help you really enjoy being snuggled up inside on a cold winters night, as usual the box is beautifully designed with adorable illustrations by in house illustrator Kanako and comes with a mixture of beauty and lifestyle products.

My Little Bouillotte
The main part of this months cosy box is this adorable bean filled cushion which you're supposed to pop in the microwave to heat up, I have got a few microwaveable stuffed animals but I've only used them a couple of times as they're also stuffed with lavander which isn't a scent I'm particularly fond of, I also feel a bit mean shoving Waffle the dinosaur in the microwave. So I'll probably get quite a lot of use out of this as it's nice and floppy so it fits nicely across you're tummy to keep you warm or soothe a tummy ache.

Espresso Cup
Next up was this adorable little espresso cup, I personally don't drink espresso but I guess I could just make a very small cup of coffee in it but I'll probably just keep it for decoration.

The Beauty Bits:

My Little Beauty Mascara
As usual there was a beauty item from My Little Box's own beauty range, this month subscribers received a mascara it's a fairly standard mascara with a nice big brush and really cute packaging but I haven't tried it yet so I can 't comment on the formula.

Arcancil Paris Star Liner
I'll be honest I don't really use pencil liner I'm very much a gel liner type of gal so it's doubtful I'll get much use out of this but as it's waterproof and seems to have a fairly opaque formula I'm willing to give it a go.

Essie Nail Polish in Cute As A Button
A fairly popular shade in the blogging community and for good reason, Cute As A Button is a bright pink toned coral shade but for me it is more of a spring/summer shade and it doesn't seem to fit into the rest of the cosy themed box but I suppose if you teamed it with some gold glitter it might look a bit festive.

Overall the box definitely made me feel cosy but it just didn't seem quite as impressive as my previous My Little Box's, you can join My Little Box here for £14.95 per month.

Lush Christmas- So White

Inspired by Lush's beloved So White Bath Bomb this shower gel has a light sweet and refreshing scent with fresh apple, rose absolute, rose water and bergamot, together it creates an unusual scent that is very much like the bomb but much heavier on the apple tones.
The shower gel is white with a light snowflake lustre running through it which makes for a very festive shower and is perfect to get you in the mood for a Christmas party. One thing that some people may find annoying about So White is that it has a much thinner watery feel than most of Lush's shower gels meaning it can get used up pretty quickly, I think maybe the addition of the rose water perhaps makes it a little bit more runny but it's not something that has particularly bothered me when using this.
I absolutely adore this shower gel I just love the scent and it really lasts on my skin after a shower as well as leaving me with soft fresh feeling skin, it's perfect to perk you up on a cold dark winter morning and definitely something I'll be repurchasing when it's run out.

Birchbox- November 2014

The theme for this months Birchbox was Cosy At Home, so this box is supposed to help you battle your winter blues and make the most of the time you spend snuggled up at home by the fire, I think half of the things I received fit into the theme but things like the lash extender and the food supplement kind of feel out of place. Nevertheless I was very pleased with what I received in my November box and they're all things I should find a use for.

Dr.Jart+ V7 Turnover Booster
I'm always on the lookout for a serum or facial oil to add to my skincare routine so this came along just at the right time, Dr.Jart+ V7 Turnover Booster aims to boost skins moisture straight after cleansing and optimise the results of the rest of your skin care leaving you with a glowing complexion. You just add a couple of drops to your face before using your toner and massage it in, I've been using it everyday since I got my box and I have found my skin looks and feels a lot calmer and more balanced, it's moisturised the dry areas of my face without leaving the oily parts feeling greasy. I was so impressed by this I had a look at the other Dr.Jart+ products available on the Birchbox website and ordered myself one of their cleansers as I'm getting low on my La Roche Posay Effaclar cleanser. Best of all this is a full size product which is worth £32.00 on it's own so the value of my November box is much much more than the £12.95 it cost me.

Beauty Protector Protect & Treat Hair Mask
This smells absolutely amazing honestly I love the scent, as my hair has gotten rather long I've taken to using a hair mask at least once a week to keep the lengths of my hair in good condition and stop it drying out in the cold winter air. I haven't tried this yet but I've tried a couple of other Beauty Protector products and have loved them so I have high hopes for this, it looks super thick and creamy in the tub and smells deliciously sweet thanks to the honey and argan oil so I'm really glad they included two tubs of it in the box so I can test it out properly.

Jane Iredale Purelash Lash Extender & Conditioner
I have a few similar products like this that I haven't tried as they have fiddly applicators so I like the fact this comes with a standard mascara brush applicator, you just brush it on and whilst it's still wet you apply your mascara, I haven't used it yet but it's definitely something I'm going to try as I'm always after longer lashes.

OPI A Grape Affair Nail Lacquer
I was thrilled to see a full size OPI polish in my box this month and it's such a pretty colour, Birchbox has three shades from the Coca-Cola collection in their November boxes the other two being a bright red and a silver so I was really happy to receive the purple as I don't have a lot of purple nail polishes in my stash, It's actually a much darker plum colour than my photo suggests and is a lovely shade for winter.

Drinkwel Vegetarian Capsules
I'm not too sure about these, I'm not really into supplements but I do tend to drink quite a bit over Christmas so I could probably do with these as they are aimed at people who drink. The idea is you take one of these with water before you go to sleep after a night out and it's supposed to help you re-energise and basically get over your hangover a little faster

Weleda Sea Buckthorn Body Oil
I now own three different products from Weleda's Sea Buckthorn range thanks to various beauty boxes and I'll be honest I'm really not keen on the scent, I think perhaps I'll use this more than the hand and body moisturisers I have as I love body oils in the winter after a nice hot shower but overall this wasn't a winner for me.

You can join Birchbox here for £10.00 per month (+p&p).

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Shameless

Purple lipsticks have been rather popular this year and I for one have been loving the influx of deep and vivid purple shades available on the high street, the first purple lip product that kickstarted my purple obsession was this Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Shameless. Previously I've always played it relatively safe with my lipstick choices sticking to reds and sometimes berry shades but when I saw this shade I decided to try something different and I absolutely love wearing purple lips these days. I'll admit I don't wear this balm all that much at the moment as I find the formula of it more suitable for the summer months as my lips get quite dry in the winter and this does have a tendency to accentuate any cracks or dry bits on your lips due to the matte finish of it but it's still one of my favourite shades and the crayon style applicator makes it super easy to apply.

Lush Christmas- Northern Lights

I meant to post this weeks a go as Northern Lights is a firework themed bath bomb but as it's sticking around for the entire holiday season I'm sharing it with you today instead. This is quite an unusual bath bomb as it has a cylinder shape and is slightly softer in the middle which I thought was a fault just with my bomb but I've seen a lot of reviews of these which all look the same, this meant that by the time I got my bomb home it had broken into two halves. I decided to pop just half of the bomb in the bath, first up I put the half with the blue middle in, it fizzled away leaving swirls of purple and blue with little white stars floating around before fully dissolving leaving a pretty purple bath, when I used the second half with the yellow centre I was left with a more pink toned bath.
Scent wise it has quite a pretty floral fragrance with Ylang Ylang and Jasmine Absolute unfortunately the scent isn't all that strong and wasn't really noticeable on my skin after the bath which was a shame.
This bomb is perfect if you want a pretty and super girly bath but if you want something a bit more fragrant and relaxing I'd recommend Sex Bomb or Twilight over this.
